Superbummed that the producer Nujabes passed away. I first stumbled upon his work on a Nas One Love Remix 12" I found at this techno record store in OC in 98'or 99'. It was a $15 Single and I didn't know why. I listed to it and realized I had to have the record. Probably the Best Nas Remix Ever. One of my Favorite Records to this day.
Ever since then I would try to get my hands on anything Nujabes cuz if you found a Nujabes Remix or beat/mix cd you'd know it's pretty special. His soundtrack work and mixes were really special to me and I can believe we wont be hearing new music from him. Lets hope he archived alot of beats that were Unreleased (like when Jay Dee (J Dilla) passed)...... Truthfully his music makes me paint better and lets hope he inspired young musician/producers to expand their styles and take risks so we can hear some more music in the school of/in the style of Nujabes. I believe his music bridged a gap between classical/jazz/funk/soul and hiphop. Soft/Smooth and Elegant but hard hitting and exciting at the same time.
His music is like a breath of fresh air and it gives me goosebumbs to this day... Thank god he can live forever through his music.... RIP
