Jose Parla on Birdseye Maple Wood Art Paper. Says "Dave W 2011" in Parla Graff/Cursive Font.
The E is extra sick. I found that fluid E shape repeated in his large canvas paintings. I love that the little dark Birdseye Dots in the wood grain interact with the misty light blue paint dots on the surface.
These guys were all really nice to get down on my wood veneer art papes.
Haze on Gunmetal Grey Wood Paper. Futura on Ash Wood.
Futura one is extra sick, cuz initially when I looked at/chose the grain of the wood I was thinking "oh that would be sick if he did a futura space tower shape over there where there a flaw in the sample sheet on the left" Towards the end of blessing up the wood paper he put a tower shape over there and I was pumped.
Baby/Sky Blue color is Sharpie Oil Pen which sucked. Pen was new and not flowing very well. The Dark Blue is Acrylic Deco Paint Pen. Which I gave to him after as thanks for signing/sketching my little wood art paper. I told him that "This is the most futura wood grain I could find"....
Have to use Blue Painters Tape to flatten the veneers or else they'd buckle up and roll up like a taquito.
Quick idea is becoming pretty official as now it's in order: (1st) Os Gemeos, (2nd) Retna, (3rd) Kaws, (4th) Barry Mcgee/Twist, (5th) Jayson/Terror 161, (6th) Aiko, (7th) Jose Parla, (8th) Fab 5 Freddy, (9th) Lee Quinones, (10th) Futura 2000. (11th) Haze
