Pics I took at the Raymond Pettibon & The Offs Punk Rock Show In LA. I attended a Lakers Playoffs game right before this. I remember it was a good day. This is the show that got me stoked on getting documentary photos.
I see alot of rad stuff, and to take a few snaps to take back home makes alot of sense. It's not even really history, or historic without documentary footage. All the best artists in history had lots documentary footage of their creative process or their openings/events. Also I can paint from the images, so I don't run into trouble down the line like shepard fairey with the obama drama he's going through.
All of the pics below were taken with a 3MP digital Olympus Camera. No Autofocus, with 2.5-3 seconds of delay in shutter speed. It's a F'ing miracle that I got any decent shots at all.
Talk about catching lightning in a bottle. So many wack variables with this weak camera.
I actually think there's something cool about early digital photography as it's so crappy and pixelated (I actually think there might be a resurgence of people going back to crap grade digital, as everybody likes the vintage poloroid style in art photos).
But now that I got real with it and purchased the pro 14MP Sony Nex 5 with interchangeable lenses. So (while I'm not throwing away the 3mp olypus - I'm not going to use it till I have a good reason to)
