Santa Cruzin' to Durban

Didn't get finished picks cuz I had to get it shipped out for Durban art show on 18th.
But here is a 90-95% complete progress shot from a few hours before it was completed.
1st time I painted on a found object.
The deck was so rad it was a bit nerve racking - cuz I didn't want to lose the orange/green original spiral colors from the deck. Sent this with the 2 prints below. Should look nice hung all together.

"Sweetbackside colors"....... Santa Cruz Deck is was...

Cuz That's What I Like.....

After grinding some food. I looked over towards my bathroom and saw this mash-up of Old and New School.

Luckily my weak 3MP digi camera was within arms distance. Solid Composition/Color Combo.

Mainly liked the composition/color/and the fact that it's a Dave Choe looking at a Warhol.
And it's a girl looking at shoes.

Just by accidentally sitting them next to eachother -
It Made me think, for a second , .... and that was cool.

Found that warhol print for $10 at a swapmeet 1-2 years back (it was professionally framed) and I respected the frame Color choice alot. Plus $10 is a steal. Latin buddy who sold it to me didn't give a crap about a warhol. I've just gotta change the wire in the back and hang it. I think it's worth 80-$100 bucks.

The choe will take 2 people - and a stud finder to hang - just got that from the framer about 8 days ago. Can't wait to hang it.

We Need Food - In Particular Tacos

(finished skatedeck piece below -will look something like this piece from 2008 above)
******
Before I had the Wed.'s Surf Session(*Pics Below*).

I got going on this Used Skateboard Piece really early at 5:00am

I was working on this piece in 45 degree winter weather -while suited up in my wetsuit -hoody - fleece jacket - nike dunks- & supreme cap (odd combo) - freezing cold in Cali @ 5am-6:20am.
Surfing by 7:00am. -back by noon- painting at 12:30pm till 3pm. Lakers game at 7:40pm.
Lakers Win - 2 Free Jack N Box Tacos for everybody :) - home by 11pm. nice day.

(fresh old school santa cruz deck I found years back. 1st Sanded - then applied 5-6 layers of clear gesso for clear/smooth surface - then sanded again to have a solid - non-bumpy surface to work on. -Fun - and coming out good so far - In particular the colors & spacing -alot going on in a good way - in that it's still working w/all the activity)

Love Movement

Might make "Love" Piece look a bit like this one from 2008 (acrylic on wood panel called-"trophy wright's") - this style takes "Lots of Tape" and patience -real crisp/clean quality to the line w/out black outline I prefer it in a way - but they both have their advantages. (More Updates to Follow)

3.) Now, on One of my next paintings - I'm going to Mash this classic "Love" Text up with the Below Style. (should look noice when it's done.)

Been working on it for a bit - I'm liking the way the linework is coming out so far. -(will update/show some pics of it soon.)

2.) Then ripped this style in oil. (30 x 40" oil on canvas -called "Transform to Light" I believe it's from 2007) (same collector owns both)

1.) So I started doing this style about 3-4 years ago (this one is - acrylic on illustration board -called "Follow the Light" ).
