Alexis Ross So Fine Arts (Cash and Carry)

Showed up to Alexis Ross's opening at So Fine Arts and tried to go inside but the show was apparently all gone/sold out as the artist designed show to be on the street in a store front window. Which was a subtle reference to his work on the Barry Mcgee Steve Espo Powers collaborative Street Mart installation at the legendary MOCA Art in the streets show. Show was situated between Roscoes Chicken and waffles, and multiple taco stands were some lucky fans picked up classic Alexis Ross (gents of desire) original 8x10 ink drawings. Ross generously charge a mere $100 for each piece. Despite recently gaining worldwide exposure having been featured as a Juxtapoz Magazine cover artist. Now that's integrity. For an artist to charge fair rates to the people directly even though he's on heavy upswing heat wise. Consistently doing his thing, and not in it for the money, Alexis Ross is a "real artist". Wish i got to see the whole show. Just two banger pieces (with $100 price tags and red dot stickers remained in window). Glad the two buyers left them there in display window so I at least got to see a little something. (Such sick linework!)
