85th Academy Awards Promo Posters

Gallery 1988 on Melrose was approached to do an Academy Awards sponsored show featuring 9 different screen prints for the 9 pictures nominated for best film in 2013. All prints were not for sale, rather the gallery passed them out as a free promotional item for those who follow their Twitter account. My favs are the "Beasts of the Southern Wild" Print (1st Print at the top)by Artists Rich Kelly, the "Django Unchained" Poster by artist Mark Englert (2nd to Last Print Featuring the Panaramic Desert Scene). They also hired artist Olly Moss to do the Official 85th Academy Awards Print (Last Poster). Clever marketing & nice quality design came together in this commercially sponsored art event. Well done to Gallery 1988 & all artists involved!

Freestylin' Magazine '86

Found these Freestylin Magazines over the weekend. I've never seen a Freestylin' Magazine as I was 4 years old when this mag came out, Some classic 1980's imagery. The photos are just as strong today as they were in 1986. The skateboards and bikes in the photos are all soo valuable/important/collectible now.
